A UV lamp is not always necessary in your pond. A UV lamp in a UV-C device can help combat algae, pathogens, and other microorganisms. We recommend using a UV lamp in your pond when you frequently experience fluctuations in parameters or suspended algae. The most important thing is that your basic pond filter works sufficiently; a UV-C device then helps to make your pond water crystal clear.

How often should you replace the UV lamp in your pond?

The UV lamp in your UV-C device has a lifespan of approximately 8,000 operating hours. This means that if it is used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it will last approximately 11 months. We therefore recommend replacing your UV lamp every season for optimal performance. The best time to do this is at the beginning of the pond season in March. You can extend the lifespan of your UV lamp by switching it off when it is not needed.
